Video Project on RESPECT - Mid-term Break Assignment - A sample task


Video projects help students do some research about the topic they have chosen from the pre-designated ones and communicate their findings with peers in a clear and accurate way using their language skills of structure, vocabulary and speaking.

Why is respect important?

Receiving respect from others is important because it helps us to feel safe and to express ourselves.

Being respected by important people in our lives, growing up teaches us how to be respectful toward others.

Respect means that you accept somebody for who they are, even when they’re different from you or you don’t agree with them.

Respect in your relationships builds feeling of trust, safety, and wellbeing.

Respect doesn’t have to come naturally – it is something you learn.

 

Topics: Please choose one of the topics below:

1.    Respect for Animals

2.    Respect for Nature

3.    Respect for People

4.    Self Respect 

Goal:  The main objectives are to research the choosen topic and communicate your findings in a clear and accurate way to engage an audience of your peers

Requirements:

1. Length: Your video should be  4–6 minutes in length.

2. Style: There are no restrictions on the style of the video (i.e., you may use a narrated slide show, a recorded lecture, a digital whiteboard,  a sock puppet show, animated graphics, a scripted scene, filmed artist drawings on paper, interviews, etc.)

3. Title slide: Your video should begin with a descriptive title, your name(s), the name of the school, and the date it was created.

4. Original content: Aim to create your own resources. That means using your own drawings, pictures, music, animations, filmed scenes, and interviews, etc.

5. References. All artifacts (images, videos, music, sound effect, etc.) used in the video which you did not create yourself must be cited at the end. (e.g., Picture of kitten www.spca.com).

6. File format. Your video must be submitted in one of the following file formats: .mov, .mv4, mp4, .wmv. Note that these are rendered movies, that is, files that will play on someone else’s computer. Be sure to test your finished product ahead of the deadline.
