Reading-Writing Integrated Sample Task

 

10th graders were given this supplemantary task that would make them read and learn about the pandemic experiences of students from different parts of the world, relate them to what they have been experiencing about the pandemic and write a formatted essay on the prompt they were assigned. Reading-listening-writing/speaking integrated tasks are of great importance since they make students use language skills in combination and they form basis for TOEFL sort of international exam question types. 

SUPPLEMANTARY ASSIGNMENT TASK_10^th GRADERS 

 1- Please follow the steps to complete your assignment:

1-      -Read the texts using the link. Students all over the world talk about their experiences during the pandemic.

 2-      -Find the unknown words in the texts and use them in a meaningful sentence. Try to make sentences that would somehow express the meaning of the word.

3-    Write a 5-paragraph essay of 300-350 words using our Academic Essay template on the topic “How has your life changed during the pandemic?”

 

·       Base your essay on 3 arguments.

·       You can get ideas from the texts you have read by comparing and contrasting those experiences to yours.

Introduction – End your introduction with your Thesis Statement. Take a look at your classroom notes about it.

Par 2 – Your first argument-support with examples

Par 3- Your second argument-support with examples

Par 4- Your third argument-support with examples

Conclusion-Restate your thesis statement and add 3-4 sentences summarizing your points and your basic attitude/feeling about the topic.
